And this is San Gimignano, an image of sunny history in the morning, a poem of tender lights at night.



Picture this: Awakening to the song of birds, with perhaps a rooster crowing in the distance, and planning your day while sitting on the terrace, sipping freshly brewed coffee and looking out across the valley towards San Gimignano's towers...

Or this: Returning from a day spent exploring Florence or the Colline del Chianti, and playing a game of bocce, the Italian version of lawn bowls, as the sun sets and the hollows darken...

Or this: A day of utter relaxation, swimming in the pool, and walking among the rows of vines that produce a memorable Vernaccia.

It's all possible at La Fidanza, the agritourism facility Montenidoli has created at Il Poderino, a meticulously restored farm complex surrounded by vineyards and olive groves just a few kilometers from San Gimignano. It's a half-hour's drive from Florence or Siena, and offers a number of options for guests:

  • The Villa, for adults (2-3 couples), with a double bedroom, 2 single bedrooms, 2 sitting rooms with sofa beds, 2 bathrooms, a kitchen and a terrace overlooking S. Gimignano.
  • The Two Arches, a family apartment with double bedroom, children's room with 3 single beds, 2 sofa beds in the sitting room, bathroom, kitchen with patio, dining room overlooking a terrace, and a children's game terrace with sand;
  • An apartment, for two or three people, with dining room, kitchen, bathroom;
  • Twin bedrooms, with bathroom with a terrace overlooking San Gimignano;

We provide:

Clean sheets weekly, clean towels daily, a pool, a tennis court, and walks in the vineyards.

Price: For a minimum of five nights, 50 $ per person, half price for children under 15.

Upon request (costs to be agreed upon): breakfast served in the rooms or on the terrace, brunches, sandwiches, beverages, and barbecues in the pine grove. For groups and seminars we can also provide The Symposium.

From the Pisa Airport it's 35 miles, via motorway to Florence, highway to Siena, exit Poggibonsi;

From the Roma Fiumicino Airport it's 145 miles, via motorway north, exit ValdiChiana, highway to Florence, exit Poggibonsi.
